Day 1
Arrival / Welcome to Jordan (Ahlan Wa Sahlan) / Amman
Welcome to Amman (Ahlan W Sahlan), Our representative will meet you at the airport meet and great and then start your tour in Jordan! Proceed to Amman check in dinner and overnight
Day 2
Amman / UM QAIS / Jabok River / Anjara / Mar Elias / Amman
After breakfast, we start our day Um Qais, previously known as Gadara, a city renowned as the site of the famous miracle of the Gadarene swine, a cultural center in its time and the home to several classical poets and philosophers Promenade through Um Qais and see its colonnaded street, vaulted terrace and the ruins of two theatres. After that visiting Jabbok River, The River is first mentioned in the Book of Genesis in connection with the meeting of Jacob and Esau, and with the struggle of Jacob with the angel. We later proceed to visit Anjara, In biblical legend, Anjara has its assertions where Jesus and His Mother Mary passed through here and lived in a cave during their journey to the ten cities of Decapolis. We visit Lady of the Mount Church and then proceed to Tel Mar Elias.
Elias is the Latin and Arabic form for Elijah, Tell Mar Elias and the nearby village are associated with Tishbe, mentioned in the Bible as the residence and possibly even birthplace of Elijah, The ruins of the historical town of Listib ("el-Ishtib" or "el-Istib" in Arabic) have been traditionally identified with Tishbe, and are located just across a valley from the tell. The ruins of a Byzantine monastery dedicated to prophet Elijah and including two churches can be seen on the tell. After our long day, we head back to Amman for dinner at your hotel, and overnight.
*Might remove Um Qais in winter time “Nov & Dec” – it will be according to the weather conditions and starting time.
Day 3
Amman / The Baptism site / Amman City Tour (Rabbath Ammon (Decapolis City)) – Amman
After breakfast, we are headed towards the Jordan valley, to the river Jordan to visit the Baptism site which is is an archaeological World Heritage, and considered to be the original location of the Baptism of Jesus by John the Baptist and venerated as such since at least the Byzantine period.
One of the most important sites of the Baptism Site is Elijah’s Hill, the place where Elijah ascended to heaven in the 9th century BC. Later we proceed to Amman to visit Rabbath Ammon (Decapolis City).
Day 4
Amman / Mount Nebo / Madaba / Machaerus / Valley of Moses (Petra)
Today is a very special day, after breakfast, we are heading to Madaba which was once a Moabite border city, mentioned in the Bible in Numbers 21:30 and Joshua 13:9. Control over the city changed back and forth between Israel and Moab, as mentioned in the Mesha Stele.
We visit the Saint George church, home of one of the most detailed Mosaic maps in the region dating from the 6th century. The mosaic contains the earliest extant representation of Byzantine Jerusalem, labeled the "Holy City." It also provides important details about its 6th-century landmarks, with the cardo, or central colonnaded street, and the church of the Holy Sepulchre clearly visible. This map is one key in developing scholarly knowledge about the physical layout of Jerusalem after its destruction and rebuilding in 70 AD. Later are heading to Mount Nebo, which is mentioned in the Bible as the place where Moses was granted a view of the Promised Land before his death. We visit the memorial of Moses.
Later we are heading to visit Mukawer, or Machaerus the hilltop stronghold of Herod the Great. Upon Herod’s death, his son Herod Antipas inherited the fortress and it is from here that he ordered John the Baptist to be beheaded after Salome’s fateful dance of the seven veils.
After that we drive to Valley of Moses (Petra). Check in at the hotel and overnight
Day 5
Petra visit / Valley of Moses (Petra) / Moses Spring / Wadi Rum
Today our tour will start with the Nabatean Red Rose city of Petra, one of the 7 world wonders and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Enter the city through 1KM long narrow gorge which is flanked either side by 80m high cliffs! Notice the dazzling colors and formations of the rocks. The site is massive, and contains hundreds of elaborated rock-cut tombs, a treasury, Roman-style theatres, temples, sacrificial altars and colonnaded streets. After that we head further down in southern Jordan to visit another significant site Which is Wadi Rum. Explore Wadi Rum on a 1.30-hour jeep ride into the Jordanian desert! Wadi Rum was best described by T.E. Lawrence as “Vast, echoing and god-like”, and by the locals as “Valley of the Moon”.
*Might shift Wadi Rum visit to next day in winter time “Nov & Dec” – it will be according to the weather conditions and starting time.
Day 6
Wadi Rum / Dead Sea
Today we will say let’s relax next to the pools and beach by proceed to the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth deep in the Jordan Valley and 55 km southeast of Amman, is the Dead Sea, one of the most spectacular natural and spiritual landscapes in the whole world. It is the lowest body of water on earth, the lowest point on earth, and the world's richest source of natural salts, hiding wonderful treasures that accumulated throughout thousands of years.
Day 7
Dead Sea / Airport
After breakfast, your driver will pick-up with a great memory about Jordan to fly home! we will not say goodbye for you! We will say see you again soon!
